Culture Night at The Opera House

On Culture Night at The Opera House, we open our doors to opera singing, orchestral chamber music and a special route taking visitors onto the stage itself.

What you can experience

At the Opera House, visitors can follow an exciting route behind the Main Stage and through the backstage areas where the technical crews work on a daily basis. On stage, you can also experience the impressive set design from the opera Innocence.

Throughout the evening, opera and musical theatre singers will perform arias from La bohème and songs from Evita. Musicians from the Royal Danish Orchestra will also perform chamber music for both percussion and string ensembles.

In the foyer, our wig and makeup artists will demonstrate theatrical makeup and wigs from Die Fledermaus, while costumes from Falstaff will be on display.

Practical information:

Doors open at 6pm, with last entry at 10.30pm. The Opera House closes at 11.00pm.

    6:00 PM-11:00 PM: Take the stageroute
    Take a route behind the Opera House's Main Stage, see the scenery for the opera Innocence, and continue into the backstage area where the technical crew works on a daily basis.

    6:00 PM-10:30 PM: Stage Makeup and Wigs
    Watch the Royal Danish Theatre's makeup artists apply theatrical makeup and work on wigs for this season's productions. Demonstrations take place continuously in the foyer from 6:00 PM to 10:30 PM.
