Joseph Mossop

Joseph Mossop, born in 1995, is a tenor who grew up in Stockholm. He was trained at the Vadstena Singing and Piano Academy and the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen. He currently works as a freelance singer, and this season he performs with the Malmö Opera Chorus, the Danish National Concert Choir, Mogens Dahl Chamber Choir, the vocal ensemble ÆTLA, and as a soloist in two newly written operas.

He made his operatic debut in 2021 in the role of Remendado in Bizet’s Carmen at the summer festival in Österbybruk, Sweden. Other roles in his repertoire include Aeneas in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas, Goro in Puccini’s Madama Butterfly, and Schmidt in Massenet’s Werther.

Previously, Joseph appeared as a soloist in Haydn’s The Creation, Mozart’s Coronation Mass, and Handel’s Messiah.

He has performed as a soloist and ensemble singer with groups such as Arte Divine and Concerto Copenhagen, and in the summer of 2026, he sings the role of Pastore in La Liberazione by Francesca Caccini at the Confidencen Opera & Music Festival.
