Join us for this Tæt på kunsten event, where we invite you on an exclusive guided tour of the Royal Theatre’s costume store, which is housed across three floors at the Vestindisk Pakhus.

The costume store is both a magical and historic place, packed with costumes and costume pieces from past productions dating back several hundred years. The costumes form part of the theatre’s sustainable cycle and are preserved and reused to the best of our ability. During the tour, you’ll hear about the history of both the venue and selected costumes, and about how fashion always plays a part when the costume designer and tailor are at work.

The tour is conducted in Danish and led by one of the Royal Theatre’s costume technicians, who work in the costume store on a daily basis.

Please note that, unfortunately, the tour is not suitable for wheelchair users or those with walking difficulties.

Tæt på kunsten is a series of events offering a unique insight into the creation of the performing arts at the Royal Theatre, and is an exclusive offer for Sæson+, 6+ and Ung+ members.

Admission is free, but booking is required. You can book up to two tickets, so you can bring a guest.
