The pop musical took both audiences and critics by storm in 2024, and now the adventure returns with both new and familiar stars on stage. About the performance
In CINDERELLA – THE MUSICAL, the story begins in today's vibrant and not always so fairytale-like fashion industry. Here we meet Ella, a hard-working and hopeful young woman dreaming of a place among designers, catwalks, and top models. The big fashion show is just around the corner, but Ella is at the bottom of the hierarchy—possessing a heart of gold, certainly, but unable to stand up to unreasonable bosses and equally unreasonable working conditions.
Things go completely wrong when Ella – in a clumsy attempt to serve coffee to the show's supermodel, Jean Claude Barriere – hits her head and faints. When she wakes up, she suddenly finds herself in the middle of a busy marketplace in a magical fairytale world. Full of confusion, Ella tries to figure out WHERE she is and, more importantly, WHO she is. She wants to escape her strange dream and return to reality – but how do you do that when you're trapped in a fairytale?
Ella's struggle to find her way home – and to find herself – is long and perilous. First, she must live through the entire story of Cinderella, which is by no means an easy task when it involves a particularly evil stepmother and two dreadful stepsisters. Fortunately, Ella's path back to reality also includes a meeting with the Fairy Godmother, a pair of beautiful glass shoes, and, not least, a romantic kiss with the Prince under the stars.
Look forward to experiencing the classic fairytale in new clothes – with plenty of romance, warmth, and a twinkle in the eye.
The star team – on and off stage
The music for CINDERELLA – THE MUSICAL is created by Danish music's own great fairytale, Rasmus Seebach, who has written brand-new songs for the performance in close collaboration with Ankerstjerne and Andreas Sommer. The script for the musical has been conjured up by one of Denmark's most original playwrights, Line Knutzon, who with a steady hand guides the classic fairytale into the breakneck reality of our time. And the top Danish designer Soeren Le Schmidt is behind the production's many spectacular haute couture dresses and costumes.
On stage, you will find some of Denmark's biggest musical stars; experience, among others, Johanne Milland as Cinderella, Stig Rossen as the King, Julie Steincke as the Evil Stepmother, and none other than Silas Holst as the Fairy Godmother.
Please note that in certain cases (including illness and planned absence), lead roles may be played by alternating actors.
