Tae Jeong Hwang
The Korean bass Tae Jeong Hwang studied classical singing at Kyeongwon University, after which he continued his studies in Russia with the renowned baritone and teacher G. Zastavny. He later further refined his technique in Italy with the distinguished bass B. Giaiotti.
During his studies, he participated in numerous international vocal competitions and received several prizes, including third prize at the International Competition for Lyric Singers in Alcamo and first prize at the international music competition “Cappuccilli • Patanè • Respighi.”
He made his debut at Teatro Sociale in Como in 2006 and has since performed on a number of leading opera stages in Europe, including Teatro Comunale di Bologna, Teatro Fraschini, Teatro Grande in Brescia, and Teatro Regio di Parma. His repertoire includes roles such as Colline (La bohème), Ramfis (Aida), Basilio (Il barbiere di Siviglia), and Zaccaria (Nabucco), as well as other bass roles.
Since 2018, he has been a member of the chorus at the Royal Danish Theatre.
