Rowan Kievits

Rowan Kievits is a Dutch performer and theatre maker based in Amsterdam. He graduated from the Amsterdam University of the Arts in 2019, specializing in Urban Contemporary Dance.

After completing his studies, he appeared in several musical productions in the Netherlands and Belgium, including Monty Python’s Spamalot (2019), La Cage aux Folles (2019), and Spring Awakening (2022). He has collaborated with, among others, Het Nationale Theater, Tappin-it Collective, Dutch Touring Opera, and Compagnie Karina Holla.

Kievits regularly returns as an actor at The Dutch National Opera in Amsterdam. He has appeared in Der Rosenkavalier (2023), Mahagonny (2023), Boris Godunov (2025), I Capuleti e i Montecchi (2025), and Le nozze di Figaro (2026). He also previously sang the role of Anton (Student 4) in Innocence at The Dutch National Opera (2023), San Francisco Opera (2024), and the Adelaide Festival (2025).

In addition to his work as a performer, Kievits develops his own projects. In 2024, he founded Club WILD, a theatre collective focused on interdisciplinary performances and queer perspectives. With Club WILD, he created and staged DORIAN (2024) and is currently working on new productions.
