Equinox Festival returns in August 2026 for its ninth edition, with four unique evenings at Takkelloftet.
Equinox is a festival of classical music and dance that brings together some of Europe’s finest musicians, choreographers, and dancers. Each summer in Copenhagen, the festival offers audiences an intimate, accessible, and inspiring cultural experience.
The core mission of Equinox is to celebrate underrepresented composers - especially women - and to combine music with dance. Constructed after months of in-depth research to uncover forgotten and new works of music, each program shines a light on lesser-known composers, whose brilliant voices don’t always get heard.
Every Equinox concert also features at least one world premiere of dance, created specifically for the festival in close collaboration with musicians. At Equinox, music becomes a sensory experience that can be both seen and felt.
