Behind the iconic facade on Kongens Nytorv awaits an exclusive experience where history lives side by side with art. On a private tour of the Old Stage (Gl. Scene), your group is invited inside the extraordinary universe of the Royal Danish Theatre – a place where the dreams, voices, and stories of generations still linger in the air.
We will take your group through the magnificent halls, where the glow of chandeliers meets gilded details. Every staircase, door, and balcony holds stories of royals, artists, and audiences spanning more than 250 years. Along the way, our guide will share the history of the house, the people who have left their mark on the stage, and the traditions that continue to make the Old Stage a world-class theater.
Experience the magic behind the curtain – exclusively for you
As the theater breathes between rehearsals and performances, the house opens its doors to give you a rare glimpse into the world that is normally hidden behind the curtain. Here, architecture, craftsmanship, and performing arts come together in a living tale of passion and precision.
You will gain a unique insight into the special world that audiences rarely see – from the beautiful public areas to stories about the immense work behind the productions. This tour is the perfect shared activity, whether you are dedicated to theater lovers or simply curious to experience a historic building steeped in culture. You will leave with shared memories, surprising insights, and new stories to talk about afterward.
Welcome inside for an unforgettable group experience in a house where art never stands still.
